When you press on the brake pedal, brake fluid travels from the brake fluid reservoir to each brake caliper to exert the clamping forces needed to grab onto the brake discs and slow the vehicle down. Unfortunately, brake fluid constantly absorbs unwanted moisture from its surrounding environment, which means it’ll become contaminated over time. Contaminated brake fluid can corrode internal parts as well as provide poor braking performance, especially under extreme driving conditions.
